Pop-Up Cottonwood — Spring 2026

Pop-Up Cottonwood — Spring 2026 was an unplanned return to the private property where Pop-Up Nomads first began. The original stay had worked so well that it quickly became clear how unusually good the location was for our community.

From March 10 through April 20, a rotating group of roughly three to eight campers returned to the property, again splitting the cost equally at an average of around $10 per night.

The site provided water, trash disposal, and a portable toilet, while we brought our own shade structures, communal spaces, games, and Kitty City. Camp life included game nights, shared dinners, campfires, hikes, disc golf, co-working, outdoor games, and plenty of independent time.

The combination is difficult to find: a private group space near the Verde River, walking access to downtown Cottonwood, nearby disc golf, useful amenities, an affordable shared rate, and a landowner we have developed a genuinely great relationship with.

Returning for another six weeks helped turn Cottonwood from a successful one-time Pop-Up into something closer to a seasonal home base — a place where familiar faces could come back, our camp systems could become more established, and the community could build continuity instead of constantly starting over somewhere new. That relationship eventually made our planned five-month Pop-Up Cottonwood possible.
